Optimizing Long-Distance Connectivity: Network Orbiter's Implementation of Mimosa B5x for High-Capacity IT Networks
Long-Haul Links
Network Orbiter is a leading system integration company specializing in IT and IT networking, with a strong focus on Access Networks. In a recent case study, Mimosa's B5x was chosen to bridge the digital divide and provide WiFi connectivity to a Network Orbiter customer.
One of Network Orbiter’s trusted customers required connectivity between two locations 86.6 kilometers apart. Given the terrain and environmental conditions, a Wireless UBR PTP solution seemed ideal, but the long distance posed a significant challenge. To address these challenges, they sought an industry-leading product capable of overcoming these obstacles.
After conducting research, it was determined that the Mimosa B5x would be suitable for this project, given its high capacity and long link distance capabilities. With careful planning using the Mimosa Link Design Tool (NDT), they selected the Mimosa B5x paired with a 32 dBi ALGcom outdoor antenna. Mimosa's backhaul solutions are renowned for their reliability and performance in challenging environments, making them a perfect fit for our requirements.
Using the Mimosa Link Design Tool (NDT), the Mimosa B5x paired with a 32 dBi ALGcom outdoor antenna was able to achieve a link distance of 86.6 km and they were successfully able to deliver up to 489 Mbps aggregate IP throughput with the signal strength of -66 dBm.
